Artwork / Subjects / Work Gloves

For me this was the ultimate "found object"–discarded on the sidewalk, the work glove was the embodiment of human activities done. Layers of color, texture, and objects implied successive activities. It was kind of an anti-product acting as an abstraction of a person. The individual gloves became building blocks to create installations. The series started with picking up discarded work gloves, doing paintings from them, next painting and collaging on actual gloves, then using them in groups to define spaces, and currently putting them into boxes which gives each glove it's own world.
